SD Renewables LLC is a next-generation energy technology company designing systems for the grid as it really operates — constrained POIs, volatile prices, clipped energy, downtime risk, and rising demands for flexibility. Our flagship innovation, the Advanced Coupled Renewable Energy System (AC-RES), combines the strengths of AC-coupled and DC-coupled architectures — without inheriting their weaknesses.
Here's what that actually means:
- From DC-coupled systems: clipped energy recovery, low-voltage harvesting, high DC:AC oversizing
- From AC-coupled systems: independent inverter control, retrofitability, grid-charging capabilities
Core Advantages
- Hybrid power routing for real-time coordination and curtailment recovery
- Expanded dispatch horizon from dawn to peak to evening
- Redundant energy paths reduce downtime by up to 70%
- Max yield, min cost – reduced losses, no oversizing waste
- Fully grid-ready – supports frequency response, ramping, black start
If AC coupling is modular but lossy…
If DC coupling is efficient but rigid…
AC‑RES is both — and neither.
It’s the hybrid solution the grid actually needs.
Our Founder
Dr. Saeed DaneshvarDehnavi
From the Lab to the Grid
Dr. DaneshvarDehnavi earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Texas Tech University, where he worked at the renowned GLEAMM microgrid laboratory. Collaborating with some of the most respected researchers in the field, his work was published in several top-tier journals and conferences.
His academic work went beyond theory, focusing on:
• Real-time control strategies for hybrid AC/DC microgrids.
• System optimization using live data from ERCOT, NREL, and other grid operators.
• High-fidelity modeling of islanded/grid-tied systems and FACTS devices.
Industry & Operations Experience
After graduation, Saeed joined EnerSys, working on EMS/BMS logic and BOP components. He later joined RWE Clean Energy as a Senior Electrical Engineer, taking ownership of utility-scale PV/BESS sites. Within a year, he was promoted to Manager of Operations Engineering, overseeing part of RWE’s North American fleet and leading major system restorations.
The Advanced Coupled System
It was during his time in operations that the seed of the Advanced Coupled System was planted — a response to the limitations of AC/DC architectures he saw in the field. In late 2023, Saeed left corporate engineering to develop this system full time, creating a modular, intelligent platform that bridges generation and storage across real grid conditions.
Drawing from years in the field, I have designed an advanced coupling system to conquer today’s coupling limits and power a greener tomorrow.— Dr Saeed DaneshvarDehnavi, Founder
Architecture & Intellectual Property
DC‑Side Energy‑Routing Tech
Power‑management logic sits directly on the DC bus, dynamically allocating PV current between storage and grid to prevent inverter clipping and unlock otherwise‑wasted kilowatt‑hours.
Clip‑Capture Algorithm
Sub‑millisecond firmware senses surplus PV and diverts it to storage before conventional systems throttle output—monetizing “golden‑time” energy with zero additional hardware.
